Five Things From: Modern Family 4×11, New Years Eve

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Five Things From. This time we are looking back at season 4 episode 11 of Modern Family, New Years Eve. Which five things stood out and for what reasons? Let’s take a closer look…

1. Authority

Hayley was left in charge of Lily but Lily and even Hayley herself knew that it was actually her younger sister Alex who was in charge. To be fair though to Hayley, she stepped up when looking after her brother and even realised why her mum may have treated her the way she did when she was younger.

2. Luke

Luke was working on becoming quite the playboy as he didn’t only invite his own date over but also setting up a blind date for Manny too. He was very confident about what was going to happen and even tidied up his room to impress his date. He didn’t tidy his own room for himself! Manny tried to win his date over and was fully prepared to call her out on her poor attitude! Surprisingly this made her seem to like Manny but then the poor guy got friendzoned. Manny took control though and walked away from the situation. Leaving the poor girl sat in a house she didn’t know in confusion.

3. Nude Years Eve

Phil and Claire’s romantic hot springs liaison was interrupted by a gang of nudists celebrating “Nude Years Eve”. Phil and Claire stayed with their new friends as they felt that they couldn’t get out of the hot spring as they were naked. If you were that bothered I feel that you would still get out. Does that guy from the hotel host other nudist themed holidays like Nude-o-ween or is this just an end of year annual celebration or his group?

4. Billy Dee Williams

How random that Billy Dee Williams just played himself in this. I wonder if he was a fan of the show or one of the writers wrote it just to see if they can get him in. Phil of course geeked out over him at the end of the episode but there weren’t an overt amount of Star Wars references. He was a perfect fit though as someone who would get on with Jay though. You could definitely see them being a part of the same poker group. I also recognised the lady playing the receptionist: I am sure she was a recurring character in one season of Desperate Housewives where she played a landlady who also ran a premium adult content site.

5. What!?

What was going on in that second bar that Cam and Mitchell went to go in to? Do I even want to know?
