Five Things From: Lucifer 6×8, Save the Devil, Save the World

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Five Things From. This time we are looking back at season 6 episode 8 of Lucifer, Save the Devil, Save the World. Which five things stood out and for what reasons? Let’s take a closer look…

  1. Flashbacks…sort of

As a show or a season is coming to an end, they often enjoy indulging in a flashback episode. These are often viewed as lazy and a cop out, but sometimes shows do subvert your expectations and do actually put a bit of effort in. Doing flashbacks through them reading Lynda’s book was fun as they were in fact new scenes warped by Lynda’s lack of background knowledge regarding some of the situations. The initial one in the police station as it stripped the characters right back to their most basic characteristics. I liked the little detail of Ella’s shirt that just said “happy shirt” on it as she usually wears something with a cute picture or phrase on.

2. Ella

Ella was once again in fine form and remains a very endearing character. Her joyful reaction to Amenadiel sprouting (is that the right word?) his wings and flying off into the sky was one of pure, innocent wonder.

3. Eve

Why wasn’t Eve helping? What else was she doing? If Maze was pulled away from her wedding night with Eve, why wouldn’t Eve just come too and assist?

4. Burnt

Was Lynda not a bit drastic to burn her book? It was actually an interesting book concept that I would genuinely like to read. Publish the books for real!

5. Decisions

We finally got the big decision that I think we all knew was coming: Lucifer doesn’t want to be God after all. He put it so simply and in a way that really is a good way to deal with getting stuck doing something you don’t enjoy: I don’t want to do it so I’m not going to. Sometimes that is a piece of advice that you just have to take.
